This policy explains what information The Web3 Academy ([Review: full legal entity name and form, e.g. "Example, Inc."], "we") collects when you visit theweb3academy.com or request training, how we use it, who receives it, and the choices and rights you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.

Who we are

The Web3 Academy delivers training that prepares people for certifications issued by the Web3 Certification Board (W3CB). We are responsible for the information described here. Contact us at support@theweb3academy.com or by post at 1300 First Street – Suite 368, Napa, CA 94559.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you send a training request, we receive your name, work email address, organization and organization type, how many people need certifying, the certifications you are interested in, and anything you write in the message field. We also receive whatever you include if you email us directly.

Website analytics

We use Plausible Analytics to count visits and see which pages lead to training requests. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across other websites. It records aggregate information such as the page visited, the referring site, browser, device type and country, and events such as clicking a "Request training" button or sending the request form, including the organization type and certifications chosen, but never your name or email address.

Technical information

Like any website, our servers and our hosting provider ([Review: hosting provider name]) process technical information such as your IP address and browser type to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Fonts are served from our own site, so loading a page does not contact Google or other font services.

Information stored only in your browser

On our certification pages you can mark which certifications you already hold to see what is unlocked. That selection is saved in your own browser's local storage and is never sent to us. You can clear it with the "Clear selection" button or by clearing your browser's site data.

We do not set cookies, and we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking.

How we use it

  • To respond to your request and prepare a training proposal.
  • To send you an automatic confirmation that we received your request.
  • To plan, deliver and administer training you agree to with us.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.
  • To keep the site secure and comply with our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Legal bases (EU, EEA and UK visitors)

We process your information because it is necessary to respond to your request and to take steps before entering into a contract with you or your organization, and because we have a legitimate interest in answering business enquiries, running and securing our website, and understanding its use in aggregate. [Review: confirm legal bases with counsel]

Who receives it

  • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), the service that delivers training requests from our website form to our team's inboxes and sends your confirmation email.
  • Our email provider ([Review: email provider name]), which stores the requests and correspondence we receive.
  • Plausible Analytics, which receives the aggregate, non-personal analytics described above.
  • Our hosting provider, for the technical information described above.
  • The Web3 Certification Board (W3CB), only when your organization enrolls learners in training and learners are registered for W3CB certification exams. [Review: describe exactly what learner data is shared with W3CB, and when]
  • Authorities, where the law requires us to disclose information.

International transfers

Our service providers may process information outside the country where you live, including in the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers. [Review: name the safeguards relied on]

How long we keep it

We keep training requests and related correspondence for as long as needed to respond and, if you become a client, for the length of our relationship and any period the law requires afterwards. Requests that do not lead to an engagement are deleted after [Review: retention period].

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate;
  • delete your information;
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • receive a copy of it in a portable format;
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request its deletion or correction, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@theweb3academy.com. We will respond within the time the law requires.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as financial or government identifiers through our form.

Children

This website is intended for organizations and professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will make it prominent on the site.
